What is Lakeside, Texas?
Lakeside is a small (~1,672 residents, Census 2020) town on the western shore of Lake Worth in western Tarrant County. It was incorporated in 1956 and is named for its lakefront location. The town's geography and small population leave it dependent on Tarrant County for sheriff's services in many cases; it operates its own town government and is part of Azle ISD. The Tarrant County line with Parker County runs near Lakeside's western edge. Sources: Town of Lakeside (townoflakeside.us); Texas State Historical Association; U.S. Census Bureau.
